General Manager User-Centred Design, Data & Digital Group, Bureau of Meteorology
When Jenny entered the world of digital a few years ago, it was like learning a new language. Yet she soon recognised that 20 years in marketing and communication meant she naturally brought a user focus to her work, it was just different lingo and some super cool tools and techniques. The technical, UX folk and Jenny realised they were made for each other - they worked the research, design and software magic and she helped navigate the business side of things, becoming the 'Chief Unblocker'.
Jenny's been instrumental in leading the Bureau into the Twittersphere, setting up video capability and delivering the Bureau's first weather app. Responsible for a web service that has grown organically over 20 years and generates 1.5 billion unique page views a year, the focus is now on taking a user-centred design approach to redevelop the service and improve the user experience.
